About Restaurant Boccaccio

The moment one steps inside Restaurant Boccaccio, a distinct warmth emanates from its cozy interior, subtly blending rustic charm with a contemporary Italian feel. It’s easy to lose track of time surrounded by soft lighting and the quiet hum of convivial chatter, though occasional glimpses at online photos hint at a vibrant dining scene that matches its reputation. While the ambience leans toward intimate, occasionally the space feels a little cramped when busier evenings fill the restaurant, which can affect the overall tranquility.

The restaurant’s menu is a thoughtful compilation of Italian classics, but there are noteworthy flourishes that suggest an attentive kitchen. Pasta dishes, in particular, present a satisfying balance of familiar flavors and careful technique, though some might find portions modest given the price range. Reviews often highlight the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, a sentiment supported here, though a slight delay during peak hours suggests the need for occasional pacing adjustments. Wine selections complement the food well, albeit without extensive variety, catering mostly to approachable, easy-to-enjoy options.

For those curious about the visual appeal of their dining choices, glimpses through various platforms provide a useful sense of what to expect, aligning well with the actual experience and avoiding common mismatches in presentation. While some reviews mention high expectations about standout dishes, here the overall impression is one of steady quality rather than showstopping innovation. Restaurant Boccaccio finds a comfortable middle ground, appealing to diners looking for solid Italian fare in a relaxed setting, even if it occasionally stumbles on consistency and the occasional crowded moment.

On a spur of the moment decision we ended up in Boccaccio. We had never been here before and we will definitely be going back. The staff we very friendly and the food was delicious, prepared very good and timed so that no one had to wait. All in all a great night out.

Delicious italian food. Combinations of appetizers and main courses available. It is worth every single penny! Good service & wines too

Tasty food, attentive service, nicely decorated and a lot of outdoor seating as well. The music was a little out of touch (pop songs) although i personally didn't mind. Great wine and aperitivo selection and plenty of different meals and antipasti to choose from. I received complimentary olives (very good!) and cold water. The pasta con costolette was especially decadent. Finishing the meal with a €2 espresso is like being back in Italy. They have a unique grappa selection that I did not try.

What a great place to go to dinner too. We made reservations as we expected it to be busy on a Thursday night and it kinda was but the restaurant is set up nicely in a way that doesn't make it feel cramped at all. Food: Absolutely love it. If you like Italian food, and not just pizza but actual Italian food, this is a lovely place to go to. We had some pane as a first plate, lovely bruschetta with roasted paprika and burrata and the secondia piatti (or the main dish) was a goat cheese pasta for me and a duck breast tomato pasta for my partner. The pasta is fresh and so delicious. I forgot to take a picture cause I just wanted to eat it. Finished up with a cannoli for dessert (see picture) that was absolutely mouthwatering. the portion sizes are just right and the price is really decent. Also they have an amazing wine menu which I sadly couldn't try out due to being pregnant so I will come back for that later. Service: The staff is very friendly and helpful. They made me a virgin gin tonic and we're very helpful with figuring out which dishes were safe to eat. Atmosphere: We had a lovely table in the corner. As a neurodivergent person going to restaurants can be quite exhausting even though I love going for dinners and trying new foods. I asked if we could be seated in a corner and we had the most quiet corner in the restaurant. The lighting is soft and there is nice music which isn't loud at all. I could easily focus on my food and my conversation with my partner without distraction. The people closest to us weren't even close due to the nice wide setup of the restaurant. This was a great experience and we will definitely come back again.

We were here with four adults and a toddler of eight month. The service was friendly and quick, the food delicious and definitely enough (can‘t understand some other comments here). The prices are not McDonaldsstyle, bute if you want cheap food, go to a snack bar. It was the second time that I dined here (one time with colleagues and now with family) and I definitely will come back.

Had our office Christmas party and the entire Via Vecchia is the best place to visit during the festive season. It is so cozy and the place is so beautiful. Food quality is amazing. They have a small wooden cottage kind of set-up, that’s where we had the party. The food items were: 1. Caprese salad with tomato wlices, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaves with balsamic vinegar. 2. Baguette (freshly baked) with amazing quality olive oil, pesto sauce, sea salt to sprinkle on top and some olives at the side. 3. Mushroom pasta 4. Meatball 5. Stir fried potatoes 6. Casserole And many more. They all tasted good. Nice place for a gathering or party.

We had a very nice dinner at Boccaccio, the food and wine were great, and it was not expensive at all! We had a menu with 4 courses and a bottle of wine and we spent ~55 per person. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this one! :) Also, I got very authentic vibes from the atmosphere and the food. The only small thing I should mention is that the main (veal tenderloin) cooled down a bit too fast, which maybe can be solved by serving it on pre-heated plates? But other than that, 10/10 :)

The food here is good, though it’s not what I’d call authentically Italian—but I actually enjoyed the twist they put on it. The antipasti, especially the selection of salami and cheese, were great, and the pappardelle was also delicious. The menu can be a bit confusing since they list items as antipasti that would be considered primi in Italy, and secondi that feel more like primi. This is because the antipasti, even when they’re more like primi, are served in smaller portions. The wine selection is decent, prices are fair, and the service is excellent. Plus, the restaurant is tucked away in a beautiful little alley. If the weather’s nice, definitely ask to be seated outside—you won’t regret it!
